I love cooking with authentic ingredients, and the Calabrian chili peppers are my kitchen staple for all Italian dishes that need a bit of a kick.
They are spicy, without being too hot or overwhelming,
The flavor is warm, slightly smoky adding a savory depth to sauces, especially tomato based sauces.
Perfect to sprinkle on pizza too.

This reminds me of Piment d’Espellete, although it is a little spicier. Great flavor to use on almost anything. I have had to share my supply repeatedly with guests who loved it.
